Our body needs calories to breath, circulate blood, work our organs, and just keep us a life! This is what BMR calculates. Eat any less than this and your body will freak out and stop letting your burn calories or lose weight.
Part 2 will be out soon to figure out how many calories you need for all the other things we do every day based on your lifestyle. That post will be the maximum calories you need every day to sustain or lose weight.
